Dippy post.

This morning the postman kindly delivered my Certificate for my Open University Diploma in Classical Studies. I'd forgotten it was due, what a nice surprise. So it seems I am now a Cert.Sci, Dip CS(Open)! Although I don't think I'll have that added to my cheque book, no matter how exciting it looks!

This week has been rather different from the recent lounging on a sunbed with good novel in temperatures reaching 30 degrees C.

I've spent probably 8 hours getting cross with my laptop and router since Tuesday night (but take comfort in the fact that loads of people find going wireless tricky), and 3 hours playing catch up with my Infectious Diseases course (and I'm still a good week or more away from being where I should!). I have viruses, parasites, symptoms, DNA and RNA spinning around my brain in a confused muddle. But it's all interesting stuff. Still haven't found the answer to why my immune system was so hopeless at fighting off that flu bug struck me for so long at the beginning of the year.

Am doing a bit of an experiment into the causes of a pounding heart too. I'm trying to discover if it is caused by what I eat. Since being back from holiday I haven't eaten as healthily and one night after a Penguin and a few biscuits too many off the ol' heart went making me feel quite nauseous. Maybe it's the rapid rise in blood sugar....or the plummet that follows the rapid rise....I'll revert back to the ultra-healty diet and see if it still happens. Although when I had the flu and hardly ate it still happened, so maybe it isn't food related. Maybe it really is panic attacks, although I hate thinking that it is, sort of seems like a failure to cope!

Weigh in

I managed to stay the same on holiday, so that's good :o)
I deserved to, I didn't drink half the Malibu I normally would! We left the bottle with the owners, they are keeping it safe for our next visit. Very nice couple too, if anyone wants a Spansih break away from the hussle and bussle of town life, I'd recommend them.
I was, admittedly, very lazy, I hardly moved from the sunbed, apart from doing a few lengths of the pool.
Dear hub did all the cooking :o)
Still sorting out the photos.....

Home sweet home

hi fellow Bloggers,I'm back, watch this space for holiday piccies and the Easter weekend weigh-in!

this time tomorrow morning..

...we'll be checking in at Gatwick! It's a 4am check-in with Easyjet and seeing as we'd like to sit near each other, we want to be near the front of the queue (Easyjet's policy is: first to check in, first to board apparently) so it's early to bed, (very )early to rise!

I'm all packed, house is tidy, and TMAs were tweaked and posted at lunchtime.

Poor hub is currently trying to squeeze 2 big cases, one small one, and a big holdall into the boot of our Fiesta! I did try for just 2 cases, really I did, but a gal's gotta have clothes for all occasions....sun, rain, pool, town, restaurant, mountains etc etc ;o) And the kids, well, they get grubby in five minutes so they need plenty of changes of clothes!

Talking of kids, they are rather excited, and alternate between playing noisy games together, to bickering like an old married couple! We've done the park and the sweet shop, next it's a DVD and early baths and threats that if they don't get some shut-eye we'll fly without them, LOL!

Weather looks much more promising if I look at the BBC's forecast than at Yahoo's! Could be in for some sun and the odd bit of cloud with temperatures in the low twenties.
