Project 365 Days 2 and 3

Decorating Katie's bedroom.

Day 1.

We'd stripped the room of books, clothes and other random teen girlie stuff during the week. Here's what was left to be ripped out and the old wall colours (Katie had dabbled in some pencil art to see if she wanted some shapes painted on. Once sketched, she changed her mind and now wants neutral walls with lots of posters/pictures in those little glass frames that just have simple clips on each side).

New window board and sockets went in, holes were filled and sanded while I spent the entire morning, hunched over or on my knees, shifting stuff around up in the loft so that Lee could move the dangling wire (in the piccie above) to the other side of the room and channel it down inside the wall cavity so that Katie doesn't have to have the wall bracket and stand for her TV hanging up so high on the wall or the wire dangling from the ceiling, and can have it tucked away behind a little box half way down the wall at what will become the new foot-end of her bed.

Day 2.

Wall colour went on late last night, or should I say early this morning (heads hit pillows at around 1am). Another coat followed this morning plus the ceiling got freshened up. Lee has spent the rest of the day constructing a new wardrobe space complete with one sliding mirrored door, two chunky shelves and a 3 fott long clothes rail for our growing girl's growing clothes collection!(Compare to the old home-made wardrobe space and you can tell she struggled for space!) As soon as I'm done typing I'm going up to hoover thoroughly, ready for Lee to gloss.

Katie is at a friend's today and doesn't know how much progress we've made, can't wait to see her face :-)
